6th Grade Field Trip to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum!

Today March 16th 2011 some of our 6th Grade group accompanied Ms. Tanya, Mr. Abbey and me to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.   What a wonderful day!

Students learned all about the early space program and got to experience the feeling of being suspended without the force of gravity on the G-Force ride! What a cool experience.

Mr. Abbey took our students on a mathematical tour where they explored the many ways in which Math and Science have practical real life applications in our world.

Students also enjoyed the rare experience of seeing aircraft carriers and the original living quarters on board the retired Intrepid Navy Ship which now serves as a museum for all to experience and enjoy!

Such a great day and wonderful learning experience!!

All Archimedes students have been given a username and password to access the program

As an ongoing assignment I would like each student to work on the ELA and MATH portion of this program for a minimum of 30 minutes a day for each subject.  You should have already taken the pre-tests in both subjects.  However, if you have not completed them, you are required to do so right away!

Once you have completed them, individual assignments which target specific areas you need help in will appear under your 'assignments' page. You should be working on these assignments daily!

I will be checking to see how often you are using this program for practice.  The more you practice, the better you will get and it will help you improve your skills overall and for the exams coming up in May!
